The Red Bead Game

$299.00

History of the Red Bead Game (aka Red Bead Experiment)

When W. Edwards Deming was working in Japan in the 1950’s, he traveled around with a box of beads and a paddle, conducting what is called the Red Bead Game or Red Bead Experiment. The purpose of the game was to communicate the importance of process control, and the fact that the vast majority of problems in a process are the result of the design of the process itself and not the person doing the work. Why We Created this Kit

We developed our Red Bead Game from our frustration with the quality of either the materials or the instructions of the Red Bead Games we found.  We wanted to provide something more than an expensive Tupperware box with cheap plastic beads, an ugly metal spatula with holes, and an instruction manual the was too short and lacking in details.  We wanted to provide something that not only looked professional but also provided instructions that could really drive home the point of the Read Bead Experiment.

The box is designed so that all you have to do is leave it in the middle of your conference table and not tell people what it is.  The beauty of the box will draw people’s attention and the mystery of what is inside will be the only invitation you will need to begin playing the Red Bead Game.

The Kit

The kit comes in a beautifully finished and professional looking hardwood box with brass hardware and contains a CNC-machined hardwood paddle, red and white acrylic beads, and a detailed CD that walks you through the how-to of running a training session complete with multiple examples and lessons learned.

The wooden box and paddle are made from beautiful hardwoods with a lustrous clear finish to bring out the unique details and beauty of the natural wood. The box and paddles are made in Colorado by craftsman woodworkers.

For the same or not much more than other Red Bead Games you get a beautiful and professional looking kit that everyone will want to know the story behind.
